Chinese kid forced to exercise in snow in US

A video clip of a four-year-old Chinese boy being forced to do push-ups, wearing just an underwear despite freezing temperature, on a road in the New York city of the US has evoked outrage.

Filmed on a New York street, the shaky footage also shows a person wearing a heavy hooded jacket to protect himself from the chill, indicating how bitter the conditions were at the time. The child has been identified as He Yide, the Sun reported.

It's claimed the child's father filmed the footage while his mother watched on during a family holiday in the US. They are said to have forced their son to brave the elements in a bid to "build up his strength".

The shocking video shows the child with tears streaming down his face while performing push-ups in heavy snow. He is also seen pleading them to let him stop after running along the pavement.

The footage has attracted universal disgust on message boards, with one surfer slamming the child's parents and branding them: "stupid" and "selfish".
